This morning my husband and I are packing up and leaving Pasadena to start our cross-country trek in our vegetable oil car. At the local Staples here in Pasadena, I found a new product they just introduced (not on the website yet)--notebooks, filler paper, etc made from 80% sugar cane! Technically the term is bagasse, which is the plant fiber waste remaining after sugarcane is processed and crushed to make sugar. The paper is great. I bought a sugarcane paper notebook to take notes in while on our veggie car trip. Nice sturdy unbleached recycled paper covers too. I've found that Staples has a lot of recycled office products at affordable prices. I use their 100% recycled copy paper in my printer.
