new tire purchase

QUESTION:

I need new tires badly (the vibration bothers my very EMF sensitive son). I'm concerned about the odor of new ones bothering him -he has MCS. Suggestions? Thanks.

COMMENTS:

If you have to get new tires, I would suggest that you purchase them soon while the weather is still warm so the smell can dissipate quicker. Also, leave your car outside so it does not stink up your garage.

My new tires took about 6 months to fully "air out". The funny thing is that I did not smell them when I drove and I have the nose of a bloodhound. Good luck

I have never thought about the smell of new tires - but couldn't she avoid the smell somewhat by buying tires that were made six months or so ago? The manufacture date is supposed to be stamped in a simple code on the tire - because as I understand it, tires not only fail from mileage, but by the age of a tire, as the rubber ages. So a tire with very few miles would still fail from age after a while.
