Buttercream Frosting

This is a very good buttercream.

If you want to add color to this frosting, use natural food colors.

1 part soft butter
4 parts sifted powdered unrefined cane sugar (sold as "organic" powdered sugar)
Vanilla extract to taste
Milk or cream to desired consistency

  1. Cream butter and sugar together with an electric mixer.
  2. Beat well on medium speed, scraping down the sides often, until the two ingredients are well-incorporated.
  3. Add vanilla, then milk or cream a bit at a time until desired consistency.
